We are so proud of our team of Learning & Development Specialists that we created the Academy for Trainers so that other organisations can feel the same way about their training team as we do about ours.
Being a fabulous trainer is far more than understanding Kolb’s learning styles and VAK! Our trainer training explores everything from the essentials, to facilitation skills, experiential learning, designing training manuals and training small groups or individuals. Programmes can be delivered in isolation, or as part of a strategy to implement a soft-skills development project whilst managing cost.
Anyone wishing to acquire essential skills to be a successful trainer will find this programme answers all of their questions. Designed by Righttrack’s team of professional trainers for new and practicing trainers, it is ‘Approved’ by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). It includes established theories and practice, as well as nuggets from our experience. In total Righttrack’s training team have over 500 years’ experience of designing and delivering! This programme is for anyone who aspires to design, prepare and run impactful, inspiring and exciting experiential training events. Attendance on this programme does not require prior qualifications or training experience. The content is focussed on Principles of Learning, Training Requirement and Design, as well as Communication and Evaluation.
Facilitation skills are a critical part of a trainer’s personal toolkit. This ILM Approved programme provides an enlightening and challenging opportunity for new and practising trainers. This programme is for trainers who have attended the Righttrack Academy Stage One Trainer Essentials or equivalent and who wish to develop impressive skills in facilitating learning. The course is designed to be interactive, building on the experience of the learners using activities and theory. The content explores the skills of a competent facilitator, also allowing for plenty of practice in a safe, mentored environment.
This exciting ILM Approved programme focuses on the theory behind experiential learning and its practical application. Attending this programme will greatly enhance a trainer’s ability to design and implement learning beyond training room boundaries. The programme uses different media and settings, i.e. the outdoors, to inspire creative, challenging and informative delegate centred learning. Content includes established theories and practice as well as examples of Righttrack’s own portfolio of experiential programmes. Attendance requires either previous training experience or attendance on Righttrack’s Academy Stage One Trainer Essentials programme. Learning is conducted through structured trainer input and active delegate participation. Delegates complete a journey, designing, preparing and finally delivering a structured 20 minute experiential training session.
This highly interactive programme specifically focuses on the development of small groups’ and one to one learning sessions. The programme is stand alone, however learners will benefit from having previous training experience or attendance on the Righttrack Academy Stage One Trainer Essentials programme. However, this is not essential. Content includes practical hands on activity allowing delegates to build on theory and time to practice and receive feedback from delegate colleagues and the trainer. Content includes Designing Material in Line with Adult Learning, Communication and Coaching for Small Group and 1-2-1 Training
This programme covers adult learning in general, as well as the design of manuals and supporting materials, including the use of appropriate templates. Throughout, the focus is very much on the requirement for writers to prepare manuals and supporting materials for use by others not just themselves. The programme is very practical, allowing delegates’ time to practice and receive feedback from delegate colleagues and the trainer. Ideally, delegates will have either previous training and/or writing experience or attendance on the Righttrack Academy Stage One Trainer Essentials programme. However, this is not essential. Content includes Designing Material in Line with Adult Learning, Manuals and Supporting Material, as well as Using Other People’s Material.
For a full programme outline, quote and trainer profile, just send us your requirements and we will email all the information you need within the next working day.
Working with Righttrack was a really great experience. They were very good at maintaining communications with me throughout the process and the facilitator notes that they produced were detailed enough that anyone could pick it up and train it out (but not too detailed that it became cumbersome).
The team worked well with us in adapting the course detail when our focus changed and were really efficient at getting the materials to us on time, despite a lot of changing dates and locations on our part. It was a real pleasure to have worked with Righttrack and I would certainly do it again".

Looking for something in particular?
The Righttrack style is to engage, energise and enthuse. Sure, there’s formal input from your Learning & Development Specialist, but we aim to build knowledge and skills through maximum interaction and minimum lecture. We know from experience that that’s the only way to leave people feeling inspired, and to make a real difference to your organisation.
Depending on the learning objectives, content is created from a combination of approaches: group discussion, board games, quizzes, questionnaires, video clips, role-play, forum theatre, experiential learning, PhoneCoach, coaching, trainer/peer feedback, reflection activities and highly visual, colourful slides (to name just a few!) But most importantly, every programme has a strong focus on making sure each delegate understands how activity in the training room translates into action in the workplace.
