This three day development programme is held in workshop style and concentrates on a combination of skills and techniques required for those in a consulting role. The programme includes examination of approaches to handle challenging situations and the need to adopt influencing strategies required in matrix management situations. The programme includes time to rehearse and practice critical skills to enhance confidence.
By the end of the programme participants will:
Exploring the complex role of the consultant
Assessing the issues and concerns that surround the role including handling political
situations, dealing with confidential information
Exploring the different ‘hats’ that consultants wear - which ‘hat’ do we wear for
which occasion?
Assessing the roles of individuals within the client organisation and how best to
deal with each one
Understanding the different communicating methods to suit the situation - including
personal communication skills, and transactional analysis
Facilitation of a discussion group
Appreciating the need to communicate information with authority, in particular situations
The importance of personal image & impact
