Development Dips are 2 x 3 hour snappy, high octane development sessions that act as a introduction to a development topic. They are either run back-to-back on one day or delivered as half days to suit your needs.

The programme is as follows:

Session One - 3-hour

Assessing Individual’s Work Style

  • Delegates have the opportunity to assess their work style and explore the time management issues they face

Prioritising Tasks

  • The trainer provides a matrix to help delegates to prioritise work

Managing Time Bandits

  • The trainer will provide input on techniques of handling time bandits including:
    • Managing interruptions
    • People ‘off loading’ monkeys
    • Distractions

General Time Management Tips and Techniques

  • The trainer will provide a brief overview of additional practical time management techniques

Summary of Learning

  • The trainer summarises the key learning points from the session

Session Two - 3-hours

Time Management and Behaviour

  • The trainer provides the links between effective time management and behaviour


Three Modes of Behaviour

  • Delegates learn the three main behaviour modes being Assertive, Passive and Aggressive (Direct and Non-Direct) and how these link directly with our work style. Delegates also use the Three Step Technique to deal with people who off load their ‘monkeys’

Three Step Technique

  • The trainer will provide input on the Three Step Technique and how to use it in managing time situations, including how to say ‘NO’

Summary and Action Planning

  • Commitment to doing things differently as a result of the sessions
