Leadership Development Training
The debate about whether leaders are born or made will undoubtedly go on for ever; one thing that does seem to be agreed is that focusing attention on leadership development training has a positive impact on the abilities of leaders in any organisation.
Leadership Development Training Topics cover:
Raising Self Awareness
Leadership Skills
Communications For Leaders
Creating High Performing Teams
Leading Change
It is often said, “If you want to understand others, first understand yourself”, and this is a fundamental step in our strategy for leadership development. If a leader analyses their own strengths they are able to use them to the full, whilst managing weaknesses ensures that these do not have a negative impact on overall fulfilment of the role.
Self analysis
An instrument that we recommend and frequently use to facilitate self analysis is the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®). For those not familiar with the MBTI, it is one of the world’s leading personality tools. It provides both individuals and teams with an understanding of their own and others’ personality style. By understanding and recognising the differences between the personality types, individuals and groups are able to work together more effectively and efficiently, improving communication and reducing conflict.
The benefits of using MBTI can include:
People understand themselves, their strengths, and their own personal preferences
Helps to establish a common language leading to increased understanding and greater
respect
Helps people better understand and appreciate individual differences in others
Helps people improve their interpersonal communication
People develop more effective relationships
Self development
Many of our leadership projects include a 360° process where individuals invite a circle of colleagues to give feedback on perceived skills and behaviours. Evaluation of the feedback greatly enhances self awareness, and after leadership development gives a clear measure of the impact of the learning. It is also an indicator of programme effectiveness and return on investment.
Working with you we build the 360° feedback questionnaire and process based on your competency framework. As a development strategy we will often hold workshops for participants involving them in the construction of the questionnaire. This provides thorough understanding of the competencies and how the answers may be interpreted.

Leadership style
An essential element of understanding for any leader is the difference between managing and leading. This fundamental awareness will then direct behaviour and actions in all aspects of the leadership and management role.

No programme in leadership is complete without covering the role of the leader in creating a motivational environment for individuals, teams and the organisation. The ever growing body of material on motivation regularly refers to the published works of arguably the most famous names Maslow, Hertzberg and McGregor. And so this module explores the thinking, the interrelationships and value of these renowned theories. Most importantly participants are directed to translate the learning into practical aspects of their leadership role.
Together we agree the building blocks and decide the programme duration to achieve your objectives:

Recognising others motivators
