Shaw Trust

The Shaw Trust is a national charity that provides training and work opportunities for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market due to disability, ill health or other social circumstances.

Due to the sensitive nature of the environment that Shaw Trust operates in they wanted to ensure that all of their employees were fully equipped to deal effectively with all issues surrounding equality and diversity.

To address their learning objectives Righttrack designed a series of 1 day Equal Opportunities and Diversity training programmes, which have so far been delivered to over 1,200 people. The impact of the programmes have been far reaching and the Trust has moved on to retain Righttrack to deliver other staff and management development workshops.

The delegates have fully embraced their learning and were pleasantly surprised with how the programme was delivered and the content covered. Some examples of delegate comments include:

  • I found the course to be excellent, very interesting with an excellent trainer
  • Very enthusiastic trainer. Felt empowered at the end of the course. I’m definitely more likely to challenge bad practice now
  • Knowing and having a better in depth understanding allows you to challenge and handle as well as spot situations better – and sometimes in advance
  • I recommend this training to all 'front line' staff

A Righttrack equality and diversity course is not an opportunity for people to be told what is and isn’t appropriate but to gain understanding – this is what equality and diversity is all about. To find out more about equality and diversity training, contact us.
