Mercedes BenzMercedes Benz UK truck division was in search of a bespoke sales programme that was completely based around their needs. It needed to be just right, as typically sales people prefer to be out 'on the road' rather on a training course.

Mercedes had four main criteria that the programme had to meet – compromise was not an option. The focus of the programme had to be on the management of the sales process, territory management, customer relationships and interpersonal communication skills. The programme needed to be the basis for continual learning for both new and well-established members of the Mercedes Truck sales force. The development programme also had to be recognised by an established external body – allowing recognition for the delegates who completed the training programme.

Having won the project Righttrack ran workshops that were attended by Mercedes sales managers across, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These were utilised alongside dealership visits and meetings with customers to generate feedback to implement into the design of the full development programme for the sales executives and managers.

As requested by Mercedes the programme made continual professional development the focus of the modular development programme with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) – Europe’s leading body in the field of leadership and management - accrediting the programme.

Delegates are fully supported throughout the whole programme via their dedicated Righttrack member’s site, enabling them to access notes, presentations, their learning log as well as their programme trainer. This aided the transfer of learning into the workplace.
