Commitment is such a great enabler to success; we all have the power to be successful, however ‘commitment’, ‘mindset’ or ‘attitude’ - whatever you wish to call it - will help turn your dreams and goals into reality.
Commitment drives our performance levels and performance is what makes us all successful.
Personal Commitment is defined by ‘Wikipedia’ as:
‘Interaction dominated by obligations. These obligations may be mutual, or self-imposed, or explicitly stated. Distinction is often made between commitment as a member of an organisation, and a personal commitment, which is often a pledge or promise to ones' self for personal growth’
The key aspect of this definition for me was how personal growth is such a fundamental and without a sense of self, we are unlikely to suceed.
Reflecting on previous experiences and theories I have learnt over the years, I recognised that the times in my ‘lifetime career’, and I’m sure in yours, where I have been most successful was when the world felt right.
So what are the key elements that go towards making ‘the world feeling right’?
For me it is when there is a balance of senses:

Experience has made me come to realise these underpinning elements also work when needing to manage or influence people around us.
Our Sense of Belonging is a natural instinct that has a direct link to team theory – building trust in others and not trying to go solo creates invaluable and successful relationships. The sense of belonging is created by ensuring people are:
Informed – communicated to regularly and on an adult-to-adult basis
Involved – being consulted on decisions affecting them
Share in success – on both a group and personal level
Sense of Excitement in the job encourages improved results through the motivation to perform well. Creating a feeling of pride, trust and accountability, and ownership for personal results is also so important.
Sense of Self - Personal Confidence & Growth is all about gaining and retaining respect and giving attention to:
Leadership – in the right places
Dedication – demonstrating commitment to others as well as yourself
Competence – developing your own and enabling others' personal growth
These elements of commitment will create a climate for success – so go ahead, review your most triumphant past self and identify the climate that works for you.
