| Personal Effectiveness - Theatre Event A redhotactive development programme. This event involves delegates in producing, directing and performing a piece of theatre. Working to a structured set of objectives, delegates are involved in creating the business idea, planning the activity from design to choreography, negotiating for the props and materials to use in the production, creating the theatre backdrops, as well as allocating roles and responsibilities. |

- Further Detail
A leading supermarket chain wanted to up-skill its workforce in a range of personal effectiveness areas such as communication skills, presentation skills, negotiation skills, planning and improved team-working.
However, because of the sheer amount of training programmes their staff attend, they wanted something that would not only cover all of these areas, but that would also be completely different to anything they've ever done before.
They also wanted the event to be energetic, fast-paced, exciting, innovative and something that would be talked about for years. Enter Righttrack...
The solution was a custom designed redhotactive development programme called The Theatre Event. This was purposely designed to not only be challenging and fun, but to cover a broad range of different learning experiences and outcomes, including:
- Business awareness – understanding the challenges and pressures of different functions
- Teamwork to create ideas
- Problem solving and decision making
- Creative approaches to decision making
- Individual contribution to solving problems and issues
- Creative thinking
- Understanding the value of team cohesion
- Setting objectives and planning
- Personal effectiveness
- Communication
- Presentation skills
- Negotiation skills
- Planning skills
- Increased self awareness of own approach and working style
Day one starts with a briefing on the challenge ahead and the different objectives that need to be met. Delegates work together to create their ideas for the theatre production. However, this event operates at two levels, creative and processes. Delegates need to sustain their creativity with a sound business case and then negotiate for the items they need. The group work through the day and early evening in preparation for day two.
The morning of day two is spent finalising the production and completing the performance/s. During the afternoon, delegates go through a very thorough review of the activity, reflecting on actions and consequences, behaviours that helped or hindered, skills which contributed to meeting objectives. Trainer input is targeted to the fill the gaps and all delegates prepare group and/or individual action plans.
In the evening delegates actually perform their production in front of a live audience.
