The Top Five Factors When Selecting A Training Provider

A recent survey has discovered that, for the third year running, quality is the most important factor when selecting an external training provider. The survey, carried out by Worcestershire based training company Righttrack Consultancy, was completed by over 50 organisations of all sizes.

Chris Banting , Marketing Manager at Righttrack, said “We wanted to find out what was important to customers when using an external training resource so that we can ensure we provide them with the best possible service. The survey has been sent out three years in a row and each year quality has come out on top”. The top five factors are shown below:

  1. Quality of training
  2. Capability of provider
  3. Proposal’s match to client requirements
  4. Price/value for money
  5. Trainers’ experience

Two new entries into this year’s top five are capability, which climbed 4 places and trainers’ experience, which climbed 2 places. “This year’s results highlight the continual trend within the market to purchase training based on the overall quality of the solution as opposed to buying purely on price.” comments Mike Cooney, Director at Righttrack. “This is a highly positive result for the industry as this focus will ultimately benefit the individual employees and the organisation as a whole as higher quality training can lead to improved performance.”

The results, which also scored Righttrack 4.47 out of 5 on quality, provide a useful insight for organisations wanting to benchmark themselves against others and is part of a larger annual satisfaction survey carried out by the training company, whose customers include Mercedes Benz, The NEC Group and The Metropolitan Police.
