Quality and Capability Reigning Supreme over Cost

When selecting an external learning and development provider a recent survey found that most important factors to potential customers are the proposal, proven capability and the quality - NOT PRICE. In a market saturated with competition, potential customers see quality and capability as key criteria when comparing learning and development providers.

Righttrack Consultancy, the learning and development specialist with over 19 year’s experience, carried out their fourth annual satisfaction survey in July. The 2007 survey results made for some interesting reading as customers showed that they are not just demanding creative and innovative projects they want the full learning and development package. This starts from the first impressions given from the provider in the initial enquiry stage right through to the post project support that they would receive.

The top ten important criteria list to potential customers is below:

  • 1. Proposals match to your requirements
  • 2. Quality of learning and development
  • 3. Capability of provider
  • 4. Proposal / quote
  • 5. Price / value for money
  • 6. Creativity & innovation
  • 7. First impressions
  • 8. Trainers’ experience
  • 9. Post-project support given
  • 10. Pre-project support given

This year’s results are very encouraging for the bespoke learning and development specialists Righttrack as they show that the customers want more than ‘one size fits all’ standard programmes and are placing importance on the standard of development they received compared with low cost fixed programmes that just ticks boxes.

Righttrack’s managing director, Kasmin Cooney, said, “It is fantastic news that organisations are wanting learning and development solutions that are designed using innovation and creativity, while demanding a high quality service from a proven capable provider. This can only benefit organisations and their employees.”

Righttrack consistently scored at least 4/5 for the top important factors, with these results being the best yet. Gemma Middleton, Communication Specialist said, “We are really proud of this year’s results. We have worked hard to treat every customer as an individual to make sure all of their needs are met and this year’s results have reflected this.”

The survey is an annual activity for both customers and potential customers to find out what is important to organisations when considering external providers. Righttrack have a wide selection of clients from both the private and public sectors including Gucci, Metropolitan Police and Mercedes Benz.
