a little bit of magic

dec 07 - righttrack's 2008 resolutions

Every year millions of people around the world make New Year’s resolutions and it would be fair to say that whether they are personal e.g. to lose weight or work-related e.g. to get to the office earlier, most are not kept past the 2 nd January. This year the internal team at Righttrack has set one resolution each regarding work, which they wish to keep.

The New Year's resolutions are listed below, we would love to hear your opinions on our resolutions and what you plan to improve on for 2008.

Kasmin Cooney, Managing Director

"2008 is going to be my year of being highly organised. I have a lot more objectives than I did in 07 and so I need to be better planned. The big stuff usually gets scheduled in and planned ok, however, I do need to focus on how I manage all those little jobs that need to be done"

Mike Cooney, DirectorMike Cooney

"My resolution for 2008 is to create a plan and spend 15 minutes every day learning how to do things better. I also want to understand our markets better as this will make achieving our sales objectives slightly easier."

"Encourage the team to do more activities outside of work on a regular basis e.g. pub meals, drinks, the odd booze night (after the baby of course)!!

I also want to spend more time developing skills as my job role has changed in recent months and I want to be the best I can be at it."

John Freshney, Programme Design CoordinatorJohn Freshney, Programme Design Coordinator

"As I have only just joined the internal team I will have to keep you posted on my resolutions. But my overall resolution will be to keep an open mind about my new role and look for way to improve established procedures."

Irene Baxter, Business Administration

"I would like to be able to project manage better. I have so many little bits that I am dealing with all at once every day. I do a little bit and due to something or other do not get it finalised the first time."

Chris Banting, Marketing ManagerChris Banting, Marketing Manager

"2008 is going to be a very challenging year because of our ambitious targets and for these to be met my resolution is to continue to look at new ways of doing things to make sure we stay ahead of the game … as well as to go to the gym more."

"My New Year's resolutions for 2008 are to be more confident in putting my views forward in meetings - stage fright can occasionally get the better of me! I am also going to set aside time each week to brainstorm ideas for our marketing.

I also want to try and kick my addiction for anything chocolatey!"

Lara Gardiner, Training Coordinator

"My job involves making and packaging lots of different things for our training courses and as such my work is usually spread out across the office, to an untrained eye it could be perceived as a bomb site! So my New Year's resolution is to be more orderly in my approach to my day-to-day working tasks"
