2008 has really flown by, it only seems like yesterday that we were all singing 'Auld Lang Syne', welcoming 2008 as the new year. Reflection is a common practice at the end of any year and so we thought it would be an ideal topic for the basis of this month's In Focus piece.

Selling is always a difficult area in business and as the media has often told us, it has got even harder in recent months. Mike Cooney, a Righttrack Director, has been in sales for all of his career and so has written this month's Trainer's Tip to pass on some of his worldly wisdom.

When Selling gets Tough(er)

I was going to start this article off talking about all the reasons why training sales people to be more effective at closing sales is critically important in this tough economic climate. But stating the obvious isn't going to hold your attention for long.

So here is a little story a very successful sales trainer colleague shared with me some years back. The tale goes that two Botanists were researching in the jungle of Borneo for a new natural elixir that would help cure many ailments.

At the beginning of 2008 we launched our Righttrack Brochure, which received a great deal of praise due to its original approach. Over the course of this year we have added many different development tools to our repertoire and because of this, we wanted the brochure to represent these additions.
