How the trainer should respond to High Yellows

High Yellow characteristics Trainer action
Emphasis Influencing others, shaping the environment by influencing others in an alliance to accomplish results Keep High Yellows on your side as they will influence other delegates. High Yellows may want to spend time too much time in discussion and detract from the learning
Behaviour Open and assertive Create the right environment to allow High Yellows to be themselves and to be open. Provide them with constructive feedback as appropriate
Pace Fast and spontaneous Keep the pace of the learning up and be prepared for their spontaneity, which sometimes can be a little off the wall
Priority Relationships Provide plenty of opportunities for delegates to bond and discuss issues around the learning. High Yellows take any opportunity to build relationships wherever they are
Focus Interaction, dynamics of relationships Plenty of interaction, minimise lectures
Irritation Boring tasks, and being alone Keep activities interesting with plenty of group work
For security Relies on flexibility Allow High Yellows space to shine within the restrictions of balancing every ones needs. Allow flexibility where possible
