Anyone seeking inspiration in their management training should watch “The King’s Speech”. A delightful story, wonderfully acted and sensitively directed. Much of the underlying messages run parallel with the issues of how, as individuals, we have formulated unshakable beliefs, how we communicate, and how we behave toward others.
Whether the King needed leadership or management training was not the issue, how he communicated, was. As a result of his upbringing, he had acquired a set of behaviours that he had to shake off in order to be a formidable leader, an impressive King of his country. So it is with most of us, we have deep-rooted beliefs that inform our instinctive behaviours – not all of those behaviours are the most effective in our working lives.
So, just as dear King George VI learned that he had to embrace new ways of thinking and communicating; so any new manager must do the same. Any new leader or manager, whether it be of a team of one or 21, must take time to find out where he or she must adapt and change to gain respect and love of the team.
Management training in particular, such as that developed and delivered by Righttrack, delivers self-awareness, confidence and new skills to lead and communicate effectively, even in the most challenging of times. Perhaps most significantly the Righttrack management training programmes that are bespoke to each course and each group, are fully focussed on delivering tangible results starting tomorrow. Each delegate on Righttrack Management Training will arrive back at work prepared and confident to deliver using clear communication and practiced techniques that engage his or her team now and for the future.
