Management development delivers long term benefits

Right now management development should be at the top of the to-do list for every organisation, because, recession over or not, the going will be tough in the months ahead and investment in people is more important than ever. The return on investment for management development doesn’t present a quick win; the compound return is delivered over time. With budgets being cut and everyone on the hunt for savings, this area looks like easy prey. If you haven’t invested in the long term skills of your people, the decline has probably already started; good news is if you haven’t seen any ill affects yet, you are not too late.

Of course, if you are in it for the short-haul, you’ll be long gone before the impact is felt; you can always leave it for someone else to sort out later.
