a little bit of magic

bespoke training guide

This guide provides an overview of how we create your bespoke in-company training programme.

Setting Up Bespoke Learning & Development Projects & Programmes

At Righttrack we dislike the word 'consultant' - not sure why - for us it does conjure up a picture of people in expensive suits taking a long time to tell clients what they already knew. So that's why writing this paragraph without mentioning the word is quite a challenge!

The initial stage of any project is vitally important. If we are to prepare the programme specifically for the client, we must have a good understanding of what each client does, the culture, objectives and the experience of those to be developed. So we spend time with the project sponsors, sometimes the delegates themselves and occasionally with the executive board to discuss anything that might help the programme to be nothing other than a complete success.

The amount of time will depend on the complexity and/or the size of the project. However, even a two day bespoke programme will have a one day familiarisation day before we start any design.

Design of The Programme

Once we've had a thorough chat, we start the preparation of the programme and materials. This involves selecting the appropriate sessions. Many have ILM approval. We write role-plays, scenarios and appropriate examples that mean something to delegates. Exercises and all activity are in line with the company culture and the experience of those attending the programme.

With larger projects we have internal scoping meetings, where the project team get together to discuss the programme structure and content. On larger projects we also brand the material and slides with a title and logo to ensure it reflects the organisation's brand image.

Some clients have the programme in manual format for their own in-house development team to use.

Psychometrics

Many clients require psychometric questionnaires included as part of their development; these can be a valuable addition to the learning outcomes as people like to know more about themselves. Tools include, for example, Belbin Interplace, Myers Briggs or Human Synergistic - Life Styles Inventory. We cover many more and these are selected depending on the nature of the development project.

Experiential Learning

Experiential learning provides powerful and creative learning which is centred around doing and can be created as a stand-alone programme or designed into a larger development project. Visit our Experiential Learning section to find out more.
