a personal experience of africaThe Righttrack team are constantly looking to innovate and provide different and challenging learning options for our clients. I decide to go to Waterberg at the recommendation of Sarah Goodfellow, one of the Righttrack Consultants, to explore what the area had to offer for learning and development; and I was stunned by the impact the place had on me personally. For those not familiar with the African bush, and I wasn’t, it isn’t the easiest place to be. The roads are pretty basic, shoes have to be checked for scorpions before you put them on and hippos have to be negotiated with to cross the lawn. Yet, around every corner I discovered a surprise. Sometimes it was the dramatic landscape, a breath taking view, the array of wildlife, the warmth of people, the strength of community, a smiling child. The combination of all of these things and the personal challenges I encountered riding with game was immensely powerful. I didn’t attend a learning event yet as a leader; I am thinking differently and have plans to implement changes in my leadership style. I strongly believe that the inspiration of this place and carefully crafted leadership development activity will help build amazing business leaders, who can inspire to win, challenge to develop and motivate to fulfil.
