African Community Outreach

african community outreach

African Community Outreach was established by a husband and wife team from the farming community surrounding Vaalwater, which is situated on the central plateau of the Waterberg Mountains within the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The adjacent residential suburb of Leseding is a large community that is suffering hugely from poverty.

A soup kitchen facility was created five years ago to help serve the impoverished people of Leseding. During the mornings, it currently serves over 1,000 people a week, varying from children under 6, expectant mothers, the elderly, disabled and the blind. In the afternoon they feed over 450 school children as well as feeding the masses of people who have had to resort to scavenging on dump sites.

Their other main focuses are:

  • Helping orphaned children from the aids pandemic
  • Supporting orphans who have been infected with aids
  • Supporting families in becoming self sufficient by growing and producing their own food
  • Supply food parcels to unemployed families
  • Supporting 12 local schools; providing them with paper, crayons, paints, etc…
  • Providing medical care for serious conditions
  • Paying school fees, uniforms and books for extremely poor families

Righttrack will work with the African Community Outreach charity and the client to ensure that the field based project is appropriate to the learning needs of the delegates and provides tangible outcomes for the charity.

Ideally field based projects would be run in South Africa. However, UK based fund raising projects can be designed and the funds raised given to the African Community Outreach charity.
